Imposition
Imposition is the arrangement of pages or copies on a press sheet so they print, fold and cut in the right order.
Eight business cards on one sheet, or sixteen booklet pages in the right sequence on both sides of a sheet, is imposition. The printer does it. Send single pages (1-up) in reading order and let prepress handle the layout, since a file you impose yourself usually has to be taken apart.
